Essential Job Functions:
- Handles the processing of incoming orders from suppliers so that material is received, data entry performed, and materials are put away or redistributed in a timely and accurate manner.Incoming material will be checked in the same day it is received and put away within six (6) working hours of receipt.
- Meets deadlines and schedules for routine procedures and deliveries.
- Handles shipping/receiving activity including, but not limited to UPS, auto freight, “will call,” store-to-store transfers, and LTL shipments.
- Guarantees all standard UPS orders received by 2:30 PM are shipped that same day. All standard UPS orders received after 2:30 PM are shipped the next day. All rush UPS orders received by 4:00 PM are shipped that same day provided the person taking the order notifies the Branch Manager of the urgency of the order.
- Ensures pick/pack and transfer orders are picked and packed focused on quality and accuracy according to the daily schedule.
- Check-in corporate orders the same day that they are received.
- Maintains the accurate locations for all inventory items.
- Maintains data entry of shipping information.
- Researches shipping and receiving discrepancies and damages on customer order and product deliveries.Processes and follows up on required documents.
- Responsible for maintaining materials in good order and condition during handling, shipping, receiving and storage.
- Orders are shipped with the correct materials to the address indicated on the pick/pack document.
- Responsible for ensuring cycle counts are completed in an efficient and accurate manner. Cycle counts are performed daily, according to Inventory Control needs.
- Properly load and unload vehicles ensuring load security.
- Process all required paperwork in a timely manner to allow for prompt invoicing of clients.
- Participates in inventory control processes as directed by management.
- Ensures that customer orders are shipped on time, to the right location, and with the right parts.
- Follows procedures regarding damaged materials due to shipping, handling, and/or storage.
- Able to perform job with little or no supervision.
- Knows and follows policies and procedures. Is skillful in performance of assigned job duties.
- Uses equipment carefully and effectively in a cost-effective manner.
- Completes documentation and resolves trucking/freight claims on orders.
- Operates pallet movers, hand-trucks, forklift trucks and other material handling equipment according to safety regulations.
- Ensures that returned materials are thoroughly checked for acceptability and that data entry is completed correctly.
- Responsible for maximizing the efficiency of material handling.
- Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Responsible for freight, stock, supplies and other materials from one area to another, loading items onto trucks, shelves or shipping pallets. Packs orders, palletizes and prepares orders for shipment, as well as a variety of general labor tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, neat, well organized, and safe working environment. This includes ensuring compliance with OSHA and any local regulations.
- Performs any other duty or task as may be assigned from time to time by the Branch Manager.
